What she may weigh — and what that could be worth

Two weights and a date. The weight projection is arithmetic. The market isn't.

Once an animal has an identity and two weigh-ins, we know her measured daily gain — not a breed average, hers. From there we project her weight forward and price it at a range of market values.

Animal #458 · measured
Weighed day 0180 kg
Weighed day 90250 kg

Measured on your scale, from your animal. Not an estimate.

Projected forward
In 90 days320 kg
In 180 days390 kg
In 270 days460 kg

Projection assumes recent measured gain continues. Actual gain can change with age, feed, health, weather and management. Each new weight resets the projection.

At today's price$974
If the market is strong$1,063

We forecast her weight. We never forecast the market — you get the range, and you decide.

What you do with it
Know which animals to sell first — sorted by value gained per day held, not by eye See the economics of holding versus selling — the point where another month of feed stops paying for itself Know your cash ninety days out — the sum of every projection, not a guess Spot the ones falling behind the group, early enough to do something

These are decisions, not dollars. We will not put a figure on what better timing is worth until we have measured it on a real herd.

Why we're building the Financial Network for Livestock

The hardware disappears. The platform becomes the product.

As more operations use Herdstone, the network can accumulate more permissioned livestock records and connect more participants around a common information layer. The value isn't another ear tag. It's the record that follows the animal.

CompoundingOver time

The record becomes more useful over time.

Each new verified event can add context to the animal's history — weights, health records, movements, ownership documentation, sales and other authorised information.

Herdstone does not need the network to make the product valuable. The operating system creates value for the ranch first. The network compounds that utility as more participants connect.

One permissioned platform — with the producer controlling what is shared, with whom, and subject to any active agreements they authorise.

$Pricing

We don't make our money selling hardware.

Herdstone is hardware-agnostic on purpose. We don't manufacture anything, and we don't mark anything up.

Use the identification you already have. If it's compatible, it costs you nothing and we work with it. If new identification is required, we pass through the actual cost. No markup. You see the number before anything ships. In sponsored programmes a participating institution may cover some or all of it. Monitoring devices are an option, not a giveaway. They cost $35–80 each. We won't pretend otherwise, and we'll tell you the coverage level that earns its keep on your place — and where it won't. We negotiate bulk pricing and show you exactly what we pay. If a better device comes out next year, we'll recommend that instead.

We make money when the operating system is worth paying for. That is why we recommend the lowest-cost technology that does the job, and why we won't sell you monitoring on animals where it will not pay.

Written pricing before you commit. The $399 setup is not waived — where a lender, insurer or cooperative wants an operation enrolled at no cost to the rancher, that institution pays it.

We're taking 20 operations this round — every setup is done by hand.

See if Herdstone fits your ranch.

A 15-minute call. No hardware ships until you approve the plan. Written pricing first. If it isn't for you, walk away.

?Hardware

Cheapest option that does the job. Not the dearest one.

Simple electronic identification tells you what you own. GPS tells you where she is. We build none of them, so we have no reason to push you up a tier — and on the call we'll tell you which one your place actually needs.

Passive ID · read at centimetres Active / Bluetooth · read nearby GPS / LoRa / satellite · reports on its own

To scale, roughly. The difference between the tiers is not a feature list — it is physics, and it is why passive identification cannot tell you where an animal is.

The one thing to understand: RFID is the identity layer. GPS, satellite and active devices are the monitoring layer. Herdstone is the platform layer across all of them. A $5 passive device creates a digital identity and a record of its last scan — it does not give remote real-time location, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you something.
Work it out here

Five questions. No email needed.

Answer honestly and it'll often point you at the entry option.

What fits your place?

Recommendations are guidance, not a quote. Final device selection depends on availability, radio approval and carrier coverage in your country. You get a written quote before you commit to anything.

Herd value

What is my herd worth today?

Your cattle may be one of the largest assets on your operation. Herdstone gives you a continuously organized estimate built from the information available about the herd, keeps the records behind it organized, and tells you what is still missing.

Create a preliminary herd-value estimate

Modelled — not an appraisal

This simple calculator multiplies the entered head count by the producer’s estimated average value per head. It does not independently value individual animals.

Estimated value

What the herd is worth today

Built from head count, class, weight where available, and local market reference prices. It is a modelled estimate that moves with the market — not an appraisal and not an offer.

Records completeness

Stop digging through paperwork

Identity, ownership, health events and device history. More complete records give participating lenders and insurers more information to evaluate. Each institution decides how, or whether, to use it.

Financing file completeness

Be ready when opportunity comes

A plain checklist, not a score you cannot interpret. Complete the items and your file is ready to share — with your permission — with participating lenders.

Record integrity

Tamper-evident record history

Important record changes can be independently timestamped so later alteration is detectable. You do not need cryptocurrency, tokens, wallets or any technical knowledge, and Herdstone is not selling you crypto for cattle.

How it works — for people who care

Herdstone may anchor cryptographic proofs of important livestock events to blockchain infrastructure, creating a tamper-evident history of when those records were entered or updated. Anchoring proves when a record existed and whether it changed afterwards. It does not independently establish that the information submitted was accurate in the first place.

What this actually means

  • Tamper-evident records anchored to blockchain
  • Material record changes become detectable
  • Farmer-controlled permissions
  • No crypto wallet required

What we will never say

  • Buy cow tokens
  • Ethereum cows
  • Blockchain guarantees ownership
  • Instant liquidity
  • Guaranteed loans
Events we anchor

Seven moments that matter

Device activation · animal-device binding · farmer permissions · financing pledge · insurance status · approved sale · payoff, release and settlement. Each one gets a timestamped, tamper-evident entry that no single party can quietly rewrite — including us.

What stays off the record

You're in control

Raw location data, private ranch records, bank details and confidential loan documents are never written to a public record. They stay in secure storage under your permissions. Only proofs of the events above are anchored.

An important limit, stated plainly. Blockchain does not independently prove that submitted information was accurate. Accuracy depends on the source records, device data, verification process, and participating institutions. What anchoring does is make later alteration detectable — which is why a registry spanning competing institutions needs it. It is plumbing, not a product you have to understand.

Your control

The Herdstone Farmer Promise

Farmers create the value. Herdstone helps them see it, protect it, and use it — without giving up control. Every promise below goes into the agreement, and several of them cost us real flexibility. That is the point.

01You keep your animals. We take no lien, no security interest, and no share of your livestock or land.
02Connecting animals does not obligate you to borrow anything, ever.
03Your records are yours. You can export them and take them to anyone, including people we do not work with.
04You see who has access, what they can see, why, and when that access expires.
05Optional access can be withdrawn by you at any time, subject to any active agreement you have authorised and applicable legal or record-retention requirements.
06We do not sell identifiable ranch data. No secret arrangements, no exceptions.
07Financing and insurance terms are shown to you before you accept anything.
08Decisions on lending and insurance are made by licensed third parties, never disguised as a Herdstone guarantee.
09You get operational value whether or not you ever apply for financing or insurance.
10We do not make health diagnoses. Alerts point you at an animal; a qualified professional decides what is wrong.
11Hardware replacement follows a clear written warranty policy.
12On an approved sale you see the full breakdown: gross, any payoff, fees, and your net proceeds.

What "Herdstone Verified" means

Herdstone Verified Identity means the animal record has been linked to an accepted identification source and associated with a registered operation. It does not independently prove legal title, health status, market value, or the absence of existing liens.

Verification is not a single badge. It is a set of separate attributes, each shown with its own status:

AttributeStatus
IdentityConfirmed
Operation associationConfirmed
Ownership documentReviewed
Health recordOn file
Device statusActive
Financing fileComplete
Institution reviewNot yet reviewed

Each attribute stands on its own. A confirmed identity is not a statement about title, health, value or liens, and no combination of attributes is a credit or underwriting decision.

Data permissions centre

You're in control, and you can see it

A single screen showing every party with access to your identifiable records, what they can see, why they have it, when it expires, and whether it is required by an active financing agreement. Revoke optional access with one tap.

What we own

The platform, not your herd

Herdstone owns its platform, data schemas, analytical models, software and de-identified benchmarks. You own your ranch records, your animal records and your identifiable operating information. That line does not move.

Case study

This is already happening

In July 2026 a dairy farm in Paraná, Brazil, used continuously monitored cows to support a credit operation of about $20,000. Ten dairy cows valued at roughly R$120,000 backed a R$100,000 CPR-F — Brazil's rural credit note — which was registered on B3, the country's exchange infrastructure. Each animal carried an encrypted digital identity built from collar data on health, behaviour and location.

What it proves

Livestock data can support credit

A financial institution used monitored and digitally verified livestock information as part of a real credit transaction.

What it proves

Monitoring adds information

Verification and monitoring may give participating lenders more information when evaluating collateral, exceptions, advance rates and ongoing monitoring requirements.

What it proves

Consistent identity can reduce duplicate-pledging risk

A consistent identity and pledge record can reduce duplicate-pledging risk among participating institutions, although legal priority still depends on applicable law, filing systems, contracts and collateral registries.

What it proves

Institutions are testing this now

Real financial infrastructure was involved. This category is moving from concept to pilot, and producers with organized records may be easier for participating institutions to evaluate.

Required clarification. This was not a Herdstone transaction. Herdstone had no involvement in it. Reporting indicates it did not involve a publicly traded token, a wallet or a public blockchain — the digital identities were registered against a conventional rural credit note on B3’s existing infrastructure. Nothing about it constitutes a promise that any Herdstone customer will obtain credit on similar terms. We present it as industry validation that digitally verified livestock can support collateral.

Reported facts: ten dairy cows at Fazenda Engenho Velho in Imbituva, Paraná, valued at about R$120,000, secured a R$100,000 CPR-F. BMP Sociedade de Crédito Direto originated the note; Target FIDC acquired the credit rights and registered the operation on B3. Monitoring collars and the digital identity for each animal were supplied by the agtech Cowmed. Herdstone is not a party to any of it and has no relationship with the companies named.

For lenders, insurers, cooperatives and buyers

Better information. Your decision.

Herdstone organizes permissioned livestock identity, records and monitoring information for institutions that already finance, insure, buy or service cattle. Herdstone does not make your credit, insurance or purchasing decision.

We do not lend, do not underwrite, and do not take credit or underwriting risk. We organize and structure the record, and — only where the producer has authorized it — make that record available to participating institutions.

Banks don't buy hardware. They buy confidence.

Herdstone supplies information and record infrastructure; each institution decides what weight, if any, to give that information.

So do insurers, cooperatives and processors. What each of them is short of is not livestock — it is defensible information about livestock. That is the whole reason an institution becomes a Herdstone customer.

Lenders

More information on the collateral

Borrower herd schedules. Identity coverage. Exceptions. Documentation. Changes over time, across a portfolio of borrowers. What you do with that information remains entirely your decision.

Insurers

Cleaner schedules, structured claims

Schedules at inception. Event history through the term. Claims documentation. Device coverage. Structured to support your existing adjustment process.

Buyers & cooperatives

Fewer disputes at the point of sale

Identity reconciliation. Sale records. Participating pledge information. Settlement records — to support your own diligence at scale.

Commercial model

Flexible, and deliberately not fixed yet

Herdstone can be funded through participating lenders, insurers, cooperatives, sponsors, or producer subscriptions, depending on the program and features selected. Institutional revenue lines include readiness files, portfolio monitoring, collateral exception alerts, insurance schedules, claim documentation, settlement and release records, API access and portfolio analytics.

What we will not do

No risk, no discretion, no surprises

We will not originate credit, bear underwriting risk, guarantee outcomes, or provide identifiable producer data without documented, revocable, purpose-limited permission from that producer.

Built for regional proof before global scale

Herdstone is initially seeking a small number of lenders, insurers, cooperatives and commercial cattle operations for controlled pilots. Early deployments will measure identity coverage, records completeness, monitoring reliability, operational adoption, and institution-level decision value.

Discuss a controlled pilot
Defensibility

The moat isn't the AI

Models are available to everyone. What is not available to everyone is a permissioned, longitudinal, institution-grade record of specific animals on specific operations, contributed over years by the people who own them. Every month a ranch stays connected, that record gets harder to replicate and more useful to the institutions that rely on it. The intelligence is a consequence of the record, not a substitute for it.

Herdstone does not need the network to make the product valuable. The operating system creates value for the ranch first; the network compounds that utility as more participants connect. That distinction matters — it means the producer business stands on its own economics, and the network is upside rather than a precondition. See how the record compounds →

The operating system

How Herdstone works behind the scenes

Herdstone sits between whatever approved device a producer uses and whatever a participating institution needs to see.

Any approved device

Any approved device

Electronic identification through GPS, LoRaWAN, cellular, satellite and health hardware. We certify, provision and support it. We do not manufacture it.

Ingestion layer

Every vendor sends a different shape of data. We normalise all of it before anything downstream sees it, so a producer can change devices without changing anything else.

Herd Intelligence

Identity, ownership, health, movement, pledge, sale, payoff and release — structured, with key events anchored so that later alteration is detectable.

Apply

Start with one animal.

We're taking a small number of cattle operations, 50 to 5,000 head, to work with us from the start. A named person sets up every kit by hand. Nothing ships to anybody who hasn't had the call.

What it is

A proper setup, not a box on the doorstep

We look at your place, work out which hardware suits, order and set them up, get your herd on the screen, sort the first records, show you how it works, and plan the rest of the herd.

What it costs

Founding Ranch Program

Paid up front. If you proceed to a deployment, the full $399 is credited against it. If you decide not to, you have received the assessment and the setup you paid for. Nothing here is free, and nothing here is a loss.

Why we charge

Free equipment ends up in a drawer

Equipment nobody chose never gets fitted. Paying something small means you actually work them — which is the only thing that helps either of us.

Before anything ships

Our checklist
Operation qualifies and head count confirmed
Connectivity assessed where the cattle actually run
Budget and decision maker confirmed
The problem you are solving is specific
Activation timing agreed against a real working date
Device tier selected and quoted in writing
Agreement signed and payment authorized
Only then does hardware leave

If your operation runs more than about 5,000 head, we will route you to an institutional deployment conversation instead — the process, timeline and pricing are different.

Application

About 90 seconds

We reply within two business days with an assessment call, a written quote and the agreement. Nothing is charged until you approve it.

This is a service and equipment agreement. It is not a loan, not insurance, and not a promise of any financial outcome. Lending and insurance decisions are made by licensed third parties, never by us.

Each rung is harder to replace than the one below it. That is the whole argument for the long-term value of the business — not the number of animals, but where in that stack Herdstone ends up sitting.

Revenue lines beyond setup and subscription are planned, not live. Several depend on licensing, jurisdiction and institutional demand that has not yet been proven.

·Why we exist

The problem was never the cattle.

Ranchers have always created valuable information. Every birth, every treatment, every sale, every season. The problem is that the information has never worked as hard as the people creating it.

Herdstone exists to change that.

IdentityEverything begins with knowing which animal is which, and whose she is.
RecordsIdentity makes records possible — ownership, health, movement, history.
TrustRecords that hold up create trust — with a lender, an insurer, a buyer, a regulator.
OpportunityTrust opens doors that were closed to operations that could not evidence what they owned.
GrowthOpportunity, taken often enough, is how a ranch gets bigger and steadier.

That chain is the whole company. We are not trying to sell equipment, and we are not trying to own your operation. We are trying to make the information your ranch already produces work as hard as you do.

Farmers create the value. Herdstone helps them keep more of it.
